WHAT I DO

Every day of working on a creative project, to me, feels like an adventure. First, I get the lay of the land. Next, comes the game plan: How much time do I have? Where do I want to go? Where are the boundaries? Finally, it’s time to get moving and start to explore, finding the perfect route to the destination. There will almost certainly be obstacles along the way, requiring me to stretch my creative muscles, think outside of the box, and conquer the challenge. Finally, a final product. Sweet, sweet, victory.

Due to the nature of some of my recent work, I am prohibited from showing it online. If interested, please request the password to my private portfolio website found here: www.kendradingley.com

Hi, I'm Kendra.

WHO I AM

It’s said that I’ve been an artist since a young age, but it wasn’t until high school that I began to recognize that art might be more than a hobby. In my senior year, I stacked my course load with all second-level art courses in which I built my portfolio. Later in 2010, this work landed me a scholarship to pursue a degree from Delaware College of Art and Design (DCAD). At DCAD, I would participate in an accelerated two-year program to earn an Associate of Fine Arts, specializing in Graphic Design. Over my time at DCAD, I thrived and was one of the top students in my class, earning Dean’s List for two semesters and spots in the student show.

After graduation, my portfolio landed me an internship with Aloysius Butler & Clark Creative Intelligence, an agency that specializes in healthcare marketing. At AB+C, one of their Art Directors recognized my skills, and he informed me of a part-time job opportunity for the non-profit community arts center in which he was on the board. I applied and got the position. Over nearly three years on the CCArts staff, I also freelanced for NuCar Consulting and took on numerous other freelance projects.

In 2016, I took a contract position at MC3 and steadily grew within my role there as a Graphic Designer. When my contract ended, they hired me on as a full-time employee. At MC3, my skills increased ten-fold, and within a few years, I earned the title of Senior Graphic Designer. Over this time, my supervisors increasingly gave me opportunities to grow my art and creative direction skills. In addition to our regular client work, I would also work on project proposals and had opportunities to be on pitch calls. My supervisors and team had the confidence for me to work independently on many jobs and work one on one with our clients. My time at MC3 came to a close when I decided to relocate to Phoenix, Arizona, to be closer to my family, but they welcomed me to return as a freelancer anytime.

In addition to my previous job history, I have frequently taken on freelance work to diversify my experience and grow as an independent artist and entrepreneur. I have several hobbies, including photography, event production, philanthropy, learning, and travel. I feel best when I help people and challenge myself. I want to see the world be a better place, and I hope to be a component in making that happen.
